2015 Grant Recipients

IEEE WCNC 2015 Student Travel Grants (STG)

IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) will be awarding a limited number of travel grants to IEEE Communications Society Student members who are main authors of papers accepted in the technical program (excluding workshops).  Amount of the grant will depend on number of requests received and are expected to range between $500.00 and $850.00.
 
Conditions for Eligibility
Applicant must satisfy all the following criteria:
 
a) Be the main contributing author of an accepted conference paper (one of the four tracks –excludes Workshop papers) and present the paper at the WCNC 2015 conference in New Orleans;
b) Be a Student Member of the IEEE Communications Society when submitting the application;
c) Be a full-time student pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. degree in engineering or related field in a college or university when submitting the application;
d) Applicant may not receive more than one STG in any 12-month period.
 
During the expense reimbursement stage, the student must show proof of having registered and attended the IEEE WCNC 2015 conference in New Orleans.  A student who is awarded a student travel grant must attend the conference in person and present her/his paper.  The student must have a paid registration under her/his name
 
How to Apply
The application should be submitted electronically via EDAS.  After logging onto EDAS, click the Travel Grant tab on the EDAS home page, and then select IEEE WCNC 2015 Student Travel Grant.
 
The application must include the following materials:
 
1) A reference letter from the student’s advisor (the advisor can directly submit the reference letter on EDAS); the letter should indicate the student is the main contributor to the paper.
2) A one-half to one page letter from the student applicant stating the purpose of attending the conference.
3) An up-to-date resume including citizenship (required), and ethnicity and gender (optional, used to broaden the participation of under-represented students).
 
Deadline
All application materials must be received by 31 January 2015.
